FIRST GENERATION 1952

History of 3 generations in farming and milling.

It all started with oxen and a plough when Gurbax Singh (Grandfather) inherited 126 acres in Punjab after a family passing . After serving in the military for 16 years he became responsible to feed the joint family of 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Humble beginning started with 2 oxen and plough in the farm. As he was the sole breadwinner of a big family, he decided to grow wheat and by end of the season he made a good wheat crop. Then he started paddy rice farming because of good soil conditions. As time passed, they were doing well and growing multiple crops like Wheat, paddy rice, corn, lentils, sugarcane, etc.

 THEN DISASTER STRUCK

The land was located  near the  Satluj river. Unfortunately, the worst flood came and swallowed half of the land and he lost the land, with all the crops. Mr Gurbax started again as he was an  ex-military man and he never gave up easily, even after the disaster happened. With the help of his family and son, Hari Singh, they started growing crops again. Those lands are still doing well today.

SECOND GeNeRATION 1972

Mr Hari CarRYINg On The Family Tradition

After my grandfather passed, my father, Mr. Hari moved away from family land and started a government job. After 26 years of service he went back to his roots and started doing farming again.

As a passionate and skilled farmer, he started growing multiple crops like wheat, corn, lentils, and all type of vegetables, having a green thumb my father did well in farming.

Mr. Hari is also passionate about processing his own crops. He is a big believer in organic Farming without using any pesticides. Over time, he started to mill his own wheat producing baker’s flour, atta, wholemeal flour, multi grain flour and corn flour.

He still uses the old method of stone mill which keeps all the goodness of wheat.

He has won multiple awards from the Government of Haryana for Best Miller & Farmer of the Year. Now he owns multiple farms in India, like avocado, vegetable, and wheat farms.

As we know the old saying “You cannot get the farm out of farmer”

As a young kid, I learned a lot from my grandfather and my father.

THIRD GENERATION 2020

Taking the family

tradition to next level.

I moved to Australia in 1997 to pursue my own path. I came to Australia to learn different skills and finished a course in bakery at William Angliss Institute in Melbourne, Victoria.

Fast-forward 20 years, I always wanted to go back to my family business roots again.

Having learned from my grandfather and dad, I picked up a thing or two. I feel blessed to have dad around to this day. I always wanted to carry on the family tradition and open a flour mill in Australia.

Now I call Australia home. Being an Australian, this country has given me a prosperous life. It’s time to give back. Then we decided to open an organic whole flour mill just like the olden days with same ethics like my grandfather and my dad.

We make whole, pure, organic stoneground flour which is good for Australia and Australians. We feel proud having a Australian-made badge on our shirts and products hence why Australian Made, Australian Owned and supporting Australian farmers.

And we promise to keep making top-quality, healthy products just like our older generations did.
